1. Unique Lighting Options

Lighting is a great way to bring a cozy or romantic feel to your wedding. Neon signs, bistro lights, fairy lights - there are so many unique lighting options to include in your wedding design!

Ask your venue about what they’ve seen work well in their spaces. Chances are, they probably have vendors that work with them often and can bring your vision to life! We recommend leaving it up to the professionals to give you the most polished look and also minimize any damage to your venue.

As for neon signs, you can rent them along with a fun backdrop or purchase your own customized one! Either way, they make a great photo opportunity…and we love the way they look on our mantle!

2. A Bold Red Lip

We love a bold red lip - especially on our beautiful brides! Red lips are a classic way to elevate your look and help you stand out! Chat with your makeup artist about how to best achieve this look and still feel like your natural self.

3. Textured Linens

Looking for ways to wow your guests!? How about a textured linen! Our favorites are satin and velvet right now. They add an extra punch to your cocktail tables or reception tables and look beautiful in photos.

If you feel unsure about having the whole table in a different texture, just making the napkin different can also be a fun option! Your wedding planner and caterer will have plenty of ideas and inspiration for you.

4. Pearls

Pearls are delicate and timeless which make them the perfect accessory for any bride. Don’t just think of jewelry (although we love that too!), think about incorporating pearls into your veil, dress, shoes, clutch, etc. Don’t forget to ask your photographer to capture all of your sweet details the morning of your wedding!

5. Floral Ties

It can be easy for the guys to fade into the background with a simple black suit, white shirt and black tie, but there are so many fun options for grooms these days so take advantage! A floral tie can work well in any season and make your hubby-to-be look fashion forward.

6. Mini Wedding Cakes

It’s pretty clear now that typical wedding traditions don’t have to be followed - including big, white, multi-tiered cakes! With so many other fun, trendy and delicious wedding dessert options out there, we are seeing more and more couples opt for a small, single tier cake just for them to cut. They then display cupcakes, donuts, cookies, ice cream, etc. for their guests to enjoy.

7. Second Dresses

One dress is nice, but two is even better! Have you been wanting to include a second dress or outfit?! Well this is your year! Second dresses are coming back in full force and we’re even seeing unique second outfits like sweat suits…because let’s be real, comfort is important.

If you’re still wanting that big princess ball gown moment, a second dress is the perfect opportunity to feature something more playful. If you didn’t get to do a first look with your spouse-to-be before the ceremony, you could also use a second dress to capture that moment before you reveal it to all of your guests, like Julia did with Derek below.

Make sure to let your wedding planner in on your fun surprise so they can alot time into your timeline for you to change!

8. Interactive Entertainment

Live musicians are a great way to wow your guests and bring extra excitement into your day. Imagine walking down the aisle to a beautiful string quartet, your guests being greeted at cocktail hour to a jazz trio and then finally an energetic band waiting to get everyone out of their seats and onto the dance floor at your reception.

If you prefer a DJ for your reception, you can still incorporate interactive entertainment during your ceremony or cocktail hour! Think about what you want your guest’s experience to be like and consider what mood you want to set for your special day.

9. Flash Photography

This is one trend we can’t get enough of!! This is your photographer's chance to capture those unposed, spur of the moment photos on your wedding day.

AB Corson Photography

Whether you’re out on the dance floor, cutting your cake or just enjoying your new spouse, these natural photos will end up being some of your favorites. The fun element of the flash will make them totally Instagram worthy or ready to be framed and hung in your home!

10. Pantone’s Color of the Year

We couldn’t leave out Pantone’s color of the year: Very Peri! We expect to see many more chic periwinkle moments this year. This is a great color to incorporate in your spring or fall wedding.

If you’re envisioning it being the most prominent color of your day, you can incorporate it into your bridesmaids dresses or florals. If you just want to incorporate small touches of it you could use it in your invitations, signage, napkins or favors! With such a fun name, who wouldn’t want to have a Very Peri wedding!?
