What is the timing of a typical wedding day at Rosewood Farms?

The standard venue rental is from 12pm-10pm with an additional hour from 10pm-11pm for clean-up. A maximum of 7 hours of event time is allotted. Those 7 hours include your ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception. Keep in mind that everything brought on-site for your wedding day must be removed the same night. If extra prep time is needed for hair/makeup or vendor set-up, access to the property as early as 8am is offered for an additional fee. In the event that you would like your reception to be extended, you can rent one additional hour from 10pm-11pm for an additional fee. After that time, everyone must be off the property. If you have a large amount of rentals (ex: draping, bistro lighting, etc.), we suggest purchasing extra clean-up time for an additional fee an hour.

What spaces do you offer?

We have several distinct indoor and outdoor spaces perfect for both intimate and larger events. Setting Rosewood Farms apart is that there is a space for each part of your wedding day. These spaces include The Suite & The Lounge for preparations, The Rustic Barn for indoor ceremonies and cocktail hour, The Rose Barn for seated receptions, The Courtyard, The Pond, and The Patios. Having both indoor and outdoor ceremony options allows you to personalize your experience!

How many guests can each space entertain?

The Rustic Barn most comfortably seats up to 175 guests for a ceremony. With flexibility in utilizing the foyer and mezzanine, an additional 50 guests can be seated. The Rustic Barn lower level and patio are typically used for cocktail hour and can comfortably accommodate about 275 guests. The Rose Barn is equipped to comfortably host a seated reception for 275 guests.

What should I expect on a tour of Rosewood Farms?

In-person of the venue are given by appointment only and are based on availability. During your tour, we take you through our spaces, provide info to guide your next steps, and answer all of your questions. Tours are typically during the week, unless there are no weddings/events on a specific weekend day. To inquire about booking a tour, please inquire with us by filling out the events contact us form.

What is the required event insurance?

All of your vendors must have the proper insurance, but the most important people (you) need to be covered as well! Our minimum requirement is a $1,000,000 liability with host liquor liability included, regardless of alcohol being served. Once the policy is purchased, we ask that you upload it directly to your online portal.

What is required to secure a wedding date?

A non-refundable payment of $2,000 and an electronically signed agreement will secure your desired wedding date. We accept the following forms of payment: (1) Check mailed to 1316 Singerly Road, Elkton, MD 21921 (2) Cash or check drop off (3) E-check through the portal with a $5 processing fee.

Do I need to hire a wedding planner?

Yes, to book a wedding at Rosewood Farms, hiring a wedding planner from our vendor list is required. Your wedding planner will guide you through the entire process of planning your wedding. They will coordinate between all of your vendors, help plan your ceremony and reception details, and make sure everything goes smoothly. The minimum requirement is a month-of coordinator (we recommend 6-8 weeks before the wedding).

Can you tell me a little more about catering at your venue?

Catering is not included in the venue rental fee. We have aligned ourselves with a handful of diverse caterers from which you are required to choose from. Our caterers provide an excellent level of service, high quality food, and a customizable experience. View more about each caterer here.

Will someone from Rosewood Farms be there for my event?

Yes! A Venue Manager will be on-site throughout the duration of your event. Your Venue Manager will be the first one in and the last one out on your wedding day. They will ensure that the grounds and buildings are maintained throughout the evening. Their main responsibilities on the day-of include regulating heating and air, adjusting lighting, and maintaining bathrooms. Additional responsibilities may include the execution of any enhancements and the direction of your guests from one space to the other.

What tables and chairs are included in the venue rental?

200 ceremony chairs (white padded resin folding chairs) are included in your venue rental. Tables and chairs for your reception are also included for up to 200 guests. These are 60” round tables and mahogany Chiavari chairs. If more tables and chairs are needed for your reception, they can be rented through Rosewood Farms.

Can I have a rehearsal at the venue?

Yes! One hour of rehearsal time is provided with your venue rental. We can start talking about scheduling your rehearsal 3 months before your wedding. A rehearsal on-site is based on our availability. If your desired date is not available, we recommend hosting your rehearsal off-site with your planner.

What can I expect for my final walk through?

The Final Walk Through is typically a month before your wedding. You, your caterer, your planner, and a Rosewood Farms staff member are required to attend this meeting. We will confirm the general timeline, finalize your floor plans, and collect payment for your final invoice.

How close are you to hotels and local entertainment?

Rosewood Farms is nestled between Baltimore and Philadelphia with close proximity to Newark, Delaware. Within a 15-20 minute drive, there are a variety of hotels, restaurants, and social activities. For specific hotels that we recommend, please visit our vendor list.

Are animals permitted on the property?

Animals must be pre-approved and are only permitted while following certain guidelines. They are only allowed on the outside grounds unless prior approval is received in writing. Animals can be on-site for a maximum of 2 hours, must be on a leash, and their waste must be properly disposed of.

What type of send-offs are permitted?

While all types of send-offs are photoworthy, the following are allowed at Rosewood Farms: bubbles, ribbon wands, glow sticks,  sparklers, and fireworks. Please refer to your agreement for specifics on sparklers and fireworks. Confetti and rice are not allowed. At a minimum, send-offs must occur 15 minutes before the end of your reception.

Are vehicles allowed to remain overnight?

Yes. We always encourage safety first! If a guest needs to leave their car overnight, it may be left in our parking lot until 9am the following morning.
